POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting to the CAO, the Public Works Manager is responsible for management, administration, and delivery of Public Works programs and services. Will provide leadership and direction to staff while overseeing the day to day operation and maintenance of municipal infrastructure including roads, parks, sanitary sewer systems, storm drainage, water pump station, sewer lift station, sewer lagoon, public works buildings, vehicles & equipment. Complying with relevant legislation, policies and procedures.

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

  • This is a working manager position, must operate equipment, supervise and manage staff members
  • Coordinate Repairs and Maintenance with contractors when required.
  • Compose and present reports to Council for decision
  • Capital Planning and Budgeting

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma, Water and Wastewater Facility Operator Level 1, and WHMIS.
  • Must maintain a Valid Alberta Drivers License Class 5 with Air breaks Endorsement. Class 3 an Asset
  • Strong Computer skills, along with professional written and verbal communications.
  • Min 5 years Leadership Experience in road operations, and or utility operations, including construction, snow removal, and buried utilities work.
  • Mentor and lead staff members, providing clear directions.
  • Proficient in Occupational Health & Safety Policies, Municipal Legislation, Policies & Procedures.
