Municipalities invited to attend Change for Climate

Edmonton is pleased to host the first ever Cities IPCC Cities and Climate Change Science Conference March 5-7, 2018. This event, supporting the Paris Climate Agreement, will bring together more than 800 researchers, policy makers and practitioners from around the world to assess the state of academic and practice-based knowledge related to cities and climate change, and to establish a global research agenda.

While the conference is limited to invited delegates, the City of Edmonton has created a series of FREE events that will run in parallel with the conference. These events are designed to engage thousands of Albertans in discussions about climate change through presentations, art shows, a science fair including Alberta and international students, and other activities.

Alberta municipalities will find valuable information during the presentations featured on the Change for Climate – EPCOR Stage running March 5-7, 2018 at the Shaw Conference Centre, Hall A. This free public stage will host 23 expert presentations and performances featuring more than 20 hours of programming. Led by Indigenous leaders, scientists, elected officials, city planners, policy makers, academics, business people and energy specialists from Alberta and around the world, the EPCOR Stage offers Alberta municipalities a unique, free, high quality way to learn about a wide range of climate change topics.
