Water Treatment Plant Operator - MVRWSC
Mountain View Regional Water Services Commission (MVRWSC) is seeking a new team member to operate our level III ultra filtration Water Treatment Plant and level I Regional Water Supply Line. The advanced treatment and distribution system serves six communities in central Alberta, providing water to over 35,000 people
Duties:
Control of the water treatment plant by taking samples, analyzing results, determining flows and feed rates and making adjustments as required
Control of the distribution system through the monitoring of numerous reservoirs and making adjustments to production and flow as required
Operation of SCADA systems
Maintenance of operational records
Laboratory analysis of treated and raw water samples
Minor maintenance and repair of plant and distribution equipment
Loading, unloading, batching, and handling of process chemicals
Coordination of equipment shutdowns for maintenance department and contractors
Compliance with MVRWSC operational, safety, and environmental procedures
Requirements:
Alberta Environment and Parks Water Treatment Operator Certification I/II/III or IV preferred, unlicensed applicants will also be considered
Additional AEP Certification in Water Distribution I an asset
Knowledge and experience in operating, trouble shooting, and repairing water treatment equipment
Ability to perform precise analysis of water samples
Ability to use a variety of computer software applications for process control, data acquisition, reporting and record keeping, word processing, spreadsheets, and email
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work co-operatively with others and deal effectively with the public
Ability to undertake physical activities with regards to operations and maintenance of the WTP and distribution systems.
Demonstrated mechanical and physical ability in performing maintenance duties
Willingness to work 12hr. shift, 4 Days / 4 Off / 4 Nights / 4 Off Rotation
The wage for this position varies between $35.70/hr to $50.72/hr depending on qualifications. Shift differential is also provided for night shift. Please submit your resume in confidence by May 25, 2026 to:
