Strategist, Communications
Come work with us! The City of Beaumont is looking for an energetic, forward-thinking communications and marketing strategist with a knack for digital media to help us tell our story and keep residents informed. Do you have a head for strategic planning, but also like to roll up your sleeves and dig into tactical work? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment and know how to turn complex ideas into clear, engaging messages? Are you someone who sees connections others might miss and brings a mix of creativity and focus to everything you do? If so, this could be your next move.
We’re not a big team, but we’re a bold one. We move with purpose, think creatively, and take pride in delivering work that informs, connects, and adds value to how people experience our city. Whether we're rolling out a new initiative or supporting a long-standing service, we know when to push boundaries and when consistency matters. You’ll be trusted to take the lead, bring your ideas to the table, and help shape the work in a place that values strategy, heart, and the people behind the message.
As a Communications Strategist, you bring a strategic lens to everything you do. You’ll help plan and deliver strategies, content, and campaigns that support departments across the organization. Whether you’re launching a campaign, writing a news release, or advising a team on messaging, your work will help inform, engage, and inspire the people who live, work, and visit Beaumont. You know how to build trust, ask thoughtful questions, and deliver thoughtful, well-crafted solutions because great communications start with strong relationships. This role is a great fit for someone who enjoys big-picture thinking and hands-on execution, and who’s just as comfortable brainstorming in a group as they are tackling projects independently.

-
Training and supporting authorized staff who manage the City’s social media channels to help maintain a consistent, professional presence.
-
Anticipating and responding to challenges by monitoring emerging issues, identifying reputational risks, and developing timely, thoughtful communication strategies and mitigation tactics.
-
Using data and insight to guide strategy by applying performance measures and analytics to evaluate communication efforts and improve future initiatives.

Supporting day-to-day communications work, stepping in for Senior Strategists when needed, and contributing wherever help is required to keep the team moving forward.
