POSITION TITLE: Recreation Facilities and Programming Manager

The Town of Claresholm is looking for an enthusiastic, self- motivated team player with the ability to fulfill all the requirements necessary within the demands of the Recreation Facilities and Programming Manager position.

REPORTS TO:

Director of Infrastructure

SUMMARY

The Recreation Facilities and Programing Manager is responsible for the overall management of the Town of Claresholm’s recreation programs, services, and facilities. This includes oversight of the Aquatic Centre, Arena, cultural and recreation facilities, community programming, and partnerships with local groups and non‑profit organizations.

The Manager plans, organizes, develops, and evaluates programs for all ages; oversees facility operations and maintenance; ensures compliance with regulatory standards; and supports long‑term asset management. The role provides leadership in administration, financial and facility management, planning, human resources, communication, and community recreation development.

REQUIREMENTS

• Degree or Diploma in Recreation Administration/Management or related field, or equivalent experience.

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in municipal or regional recreation administration, human resources, facility operations, and public relations

• Current CPR and Basic First Aid

• Valid Driver’s License

• WHMIS certification preferred

• Playground Safety certification preferred

• Parks management experience or education preferred

• Training in asset management

COMPENSATION:

This is a non-union, salaried position based on a 40-hour week. Salary will be $80-$90,000 per year depending on experience and qualifications.
