Payroll Finance Clerk III

This position reports to the Human Resources Advisor.
This position is responsible for administration and processing payroll semi-monthly in the Payroll System.
The position will work 35 hours per week. Occasional overtime work may be required.
Key duties will include:

Perform year-end processes and various account reconciliation procedures.
- Set up new employee profiles in the Payroll System.
- Responsible for maintenance of the employer and employee pension contribution and benefit deductions in the Payroll System

Reconcile the Payroll General Ledger payable accounts and process employee payroll adjustments and journal entries as required.

Responsible for input and reporting of employee time tracking for all leaves.
- Administration of computer and fitness loans, wage garnishments in the Payroll System.
- Assist employees and supervisors with WCB claim forms, submission, and monitor claims and employee payroll adjustments as required.
- Monitor employees’ pension service buybacks and process in Payroll System.
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
- High School Diploma.
- Minimum five years’ payroll processing and administration experience is required.
- Payroll Compliance Professional designation or willing to obtain
- Completion of accounting courses would be an asset.
- Experience with payroll software such as Avanti is preferred.
Physical Demands and Work Conditions for this position include:
- Prolonged used computer monitor, keyboard and mouse.
- Sitting for long periods of time.
- Working with firm deadlines.
- May be required to lift filing boxes up to 20 lbs.
