Position: Operations Supervisor

Status: Permanent – Full Time

Salary Range: $122,844.03 to $147,867.21 per annum

About the Organization:
ARROW Utilities, a Capital Region Commission is a regional services Commission providing wastewater transmission and treatment services to nearly 400,000 people in 13 municipalities surrounding the City of Edmonton. ARROW owns and operates 200 km of wastewater transmission lines, 5 pumping stations, and a modern state of the art wastewater treatment plant located just north of Sherwood Park, Alberta. Our mission is to provide safe, reliable, cost-effective and environmentally responsible wastewater transmission and treatment services.

This is an exciting time to join ARROW as we are experiencing unprecedented growth with the expansion of our wastewater treatment facility and the use of membrane bioreactor removal (MBR) technology to treat used water for resale to industrial clients. About the Job Opportunity:

We are hiring one (1) permanent full-time Operations Supervisor to join our Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the role is responsible for:

  • Supervise daily operations to ensure safe, efficient workflow and reliable plant performance.
  • Monitor operator performance, provide coaching, and support resolution of day-to-day operational challenges.
  • Coordinate and support maintenance activities in collaboration with Maintenance Supervisors to minimize disruptions and maintain equipment reliability.
  • Oversee contractor activities to ensure alignment with approved scope, safety requirements, and operational schedules.
  • Respond to operational issues, alarms, and incidents; ensure timely resolution, proper documentation, and escalation as required.
  • Support capital and engineering projects by coordinating operational resources, site access, and commissioning activities.
  • Provide leadership through training, coaching, and performance feedback, promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • NAIT Water and Wastewater Technician Program Certificate.
  • Level 3 or 4 in WWT, WWC certification through AEPA .
  • 5 years of Level 3 or 4 Wastewater treatment plant experience.
  • Holds a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
  • Experience in the following are considered an asset, but not mandatory:

    >Supervisory roles.

    >Power Engineering 5th class ABSA certification.

    >Incident Management training.

    >Root Cause Analysis.

    >Project Management

Additional Information

This position is on a 9/ 80 schedule (80 hours every 2 weeks). The hours of work are every Monday through Thursday, 6:00 a.m. until 4 p.m., with alternating Fridays until 10 a.m. or off as an Earned Day Off (EDO).

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $122,844.03 to $147,867.21 and will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications. We also provide a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off, and eligibility for the Local Authorities Pension Plan.
