This position reports to the Arts and Culture Coordinator.

This position is responsible for the planning, development, and implementation of marketing, communications, and promotional initiatives that support events, programs, and services at the Canfor Culture & Events Centre.

The position will work 35 hours per week. Requires flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays based on operational needs.

Key duties will include:

  • Create, coordinate, and distribute marketing materials and campaigns, including print, digital, social media, email marketing, and seasonal publications.
  • Maintain and update website content (whitecourtlive.ca) and manage social media platforms, including monitoring and responding to public inquiries.
  • Coordinate advertising and media relations across multiple channels to maximize reach and engagement.
  • Lead community engagement and outreach initiatives, including attendance at local events and promotion of Centre programming.
  • Provide front-line box office services, including ticket sales (in person, phone, and online), and respond to customer inquiries in a professional and timely manner.

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of one three (3) years’ experience in marketing, communications, or event promotion. Experience in a performing arts or municipal environment is considered an asset.
  • Experience in graphic design and content creation.
  • Experience with ticketing and event management software is an asset.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions for this position include:

  • Frequently required to stand and walk, especially during event shifts which may last up to eight hours.
  • Regularly involves sitting for long periods for administrative and computer work.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching to reach files, equipment, or supplies.
  • High reliance on fine motor skills for keyboarding, handling cash, and operating ticketing systems.
  • Ability to lift and carry materials weighing between 20 and 50 lbs.
