Human Resources Advisor
Reporting to the Director, Human Resources, and working collaboratively within the human resources team, the Human Resources Advisor will act as a generalist to help plan, develop, implement, and evaluate human resources strategies, policies, projects, and programs in support of the County’s Strategic Plan.
In this role you will be collaboratively engaging with diverse and talented leaders and professionals in their fields. This role is highly involved in decision-making and advising on a variety of human resources initiatives throughout the organization. This role is pivotal in contributing to the overall success of the human resources team with the ability to successfully implement change while nurturing a positive and inclusive work environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with leaders throughout the organization to develop and execute HR strategies specifically aligned with the County's mission, goals, and strategic plan.
- Provide advice and guidance on a variety of HR functional areas including: strategic leadership and development, performance management, employee engagement, compensation and total rewards, employee value proposition, HR innovation, diversity, equity and inclusion, HR data and metrics, HRIS, ability management, recruitment, training, learning and development and wellness initiatives.
- Conduct full-cycle recruitment and onboarding activities while building strong relationships with hiring managers in various departments.
- Evaluate, plan, develop, implement HR programs and policies in a broad area of HR functions ensuring alignment with professional best practices.
- Support the implementation and ongoing management of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and HR functionality within the system by being an SME for the various integrated systems and software programs.
- Support initiatives promoting diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging, employee engagement initiatives, and employee wellness programs.
- Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional growth including leading and supporting training and development initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with County policies, collective agreements, labour laws, and regulations.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external clients and stakeholders utilizing developed interpersonal and communication skills.
Qualifications
Our ideal candidate will be an effective communicator who also possesses:
- University degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or a related field; other related education and experience may be considered
- Minimum of 3 - 4 years of demonstrated progressive HR advisory experience, preferably in a municipal or public sector environment
- Chartered Professional in Human Resources Designation (CPHR) or working towards
- Registered Professional Recruiter (RPR) certification preferred
- Certified Training Practitioner (CTP) certification preferred
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) an asset
- A valid class 5 driver’s license with an acceptable driver’s abstract
- Proficiency in ERP/HRIS software and related systems.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office 365
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with proven ability to support and advise leaders
- Strong problem-solving, critical thinking and attention to detail
- Analytical, planning, and organizational skills
- A high level of integrity, professionalism and confidentiality.

Work Schedule:
This position works Monday to Friday from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm for 35 hours per week.
Hourly Pay: $57.79 to $67.99 per hour.
