This position reports to the Facility Trades III or in his absence the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator.

This position is responsible for servicing, maintenance, preventative maintenance and repair of Town owned public facility mechanical systems and associated equipment. Some evening, weekend and “On Call” work is required.

Key duties will include:
•    Conduct preventative maintenance on facilities mechanical systems including servicing and installing when necessary
•    Maintain all workspaces and equipment in and orderly condition.
•    Assist in the preparation of the Facilities Maintenance budget such as tracking costs and needs for upcoming budget year
•    Train other employees as is necessary on maintenance of facilities mechanical equipment
•    Apply for permits that fall within the boundaries of the Facilities Trade II certifications and tickets for any necessary installs and repairs requiring permitting

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
•    Certified Journeyman in or completed year one or higher of apprentice classroom instruction for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, plumbing or electrical or other trade deemed necessary by the Manager of Facilities.
•    Must possess a valid class 5 Drivers License.
•    Must have or be willing to obtain certification in Pool Operations Level 1 and II, Building Maintenance Level 1 and II, Arena Operations Level 1 and II
•    General knowledge of repair and maintenance of residential and commercial facilities mechanical equipment, including heating, ventilation, refrigeration and plumbing equipment for municipal facilities.

Physical Demands and Work Conditions for this position include:
•    Frequent lifting of materials up to 50 lbs.
•    Squatting and bending in low areas
•    Climbing of stairs, ladders and equipment
•    Work will be performed in all weather conditions
