THE OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting leadership opportunity for an exceptional Executive Director, Corporate Services to lead organizational excellence and drive transformative change within a rapidly evolving and economically growing municipality. Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) and serving on the Executive Leadership Team (ELT), the Executive Director acts as a strategic partner to the CAO, helping shape and implement the County’s corporate strategic business plan and providing key guidance to the CAO, ELT, and Council on long-term objectives, policies, and programs.

This role provides strategic leadership ensuring organizational alignment, strong governance, and a cohesive, people-focused culture across four departments: Information Technology, Legal Services, Legislative Services, and People & Culture. The Executive Director fosters innovation, develops talent, and strengthens relationships across the organization.

Responsible for day-to-day leadership of the Corporate Services Division, the Executive Director, Corporate Services guides a management team in planning, budgeting, and service delivery, ensuring all operations meet legislative requirements and advance the County’s strategic goals efficiently and effectively.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

We are seeking a strategic thinker with expertise in corporate governance, organizational effectiveness, and modern public-sector service delivery. Direct experience working for a municipality and collaborating with elected officials and Council is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As Executive Director, Corporate Services, you’ll leverage your senior leadership experience and municipal expertise to:

  • Drive Strategic Vision and Leadership: Lead the Corporate Services Division to achieve Rocky View County’s long-term goals, fostering an innovative and responsive approach to public service.
  • Collaborate and Engage Stakeholders: Build and sustain strong inter-municipal and community relationships, acting as a liaison and advocate for the County’s strategic vision and goals.
  • Promote Operational Excellence: Oversee all financial and administrative functions within the division, promoting efficiency and high service quality to enhance community trust and satisfaction.
  • Ensure Fiscal Responsibility and Sustainability: Manage all financial planning and budgeting processes, ensuring alignment with both short and long-term objectives to support the County’s fiscal health and growth.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s degree in a relevant field (preferred) and 10+ years of senior leadership experience, ideally in municipal or government administration.

  • Certified in Local Government Management or Administration.
  • Proven expertise in budget management, financial planning, and policy development.

  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships at all organizational levels.

  • A proactive leader capable of prioritizing and managing multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment.

The targeted salary for this position is $192,000 annually, with final compensation determined in consideration of the candidate’s professional qualifications.
