Director, Corporate Services
THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Director of Corporate Services (DCS) serves as a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and a strategic advisor to the CAO and Council. The DCS is responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight of Greenview’s corporate service functions, including Financial Services, Budget and Financial Planning, Information Systems, Legislative and Administrative Services, and Human Resources.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
Greenview is open to a range of leadership backgrounds. While municipal experience is considered an asset, it is not required. The corporate services team is strong which will allow the successful candidate the time needed to get up to speed. The ideal candidate may come from the broader public sector or from the private sector. Above all, Greenview is seeking a big-picture financial and organizational leader. This is someone who understands how to translate complex financial and operational information into insight, context, and forward-looking strategy that staff, Council, and residents can understand. The successful candidate will be comfortable advising senior decision-makers and will help the CAO and Council focus not only on immediate pressures, but on long-term sustainability, risk, and opportunity.
The preferred candidate will bring:
- Demonstrated ability to operate at the executive level, contributing to strategic planning and enterprise-wide decision-making.
- Strength in building relationships across departments and fostering trust with elected officials and residents.
- A leadership style grounded in relational currency, mentorship, accountability, and open communication.
- The confidence to offer thoughtful, independent advice while remaining collaborative and solutions oriented.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and overseeing functions that extend beyond finance, such as IT, HR, or corporate administration.
This role requires a leader who is both analytical and relational — someone who supports their team, empowers managers, and creates clarity during periods of change or complexity. The DCS must be able to step back from operational detail when necessary and help the organization look outward and ahead, identifying emerging risks, opportunities for modernization, and pathways for business partnerships. Experience in a complex organization with multiple stakeholders, governance oversight, and stakeholder accountability will position a candidate well for success in this role.
PRIMARY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Information Systems Leadership

Human Resources Stewardship
Through oversight of Human Resources, the DCS supports workforce planning, policy development, employee relations, compensation administration, payroll review, and organizational development initiatives. The DCS also works closely with the CAO and leadership team on matters related to talent management, succession planning, and organizational structure, helping to position Greenview as a strong and stable employer.
Legislative and Administrative Services
The DCS ensures that legislative processes and administrative functions are delivered with professionalism and precision. This includes oversight of Council meeting processes, bylaw management, records administration, and compliance with municipal legislation. The role supports transparent governance practices and ensures that Council and the organization are well served through effective documentation, process integrity, and adherence to statutory requirements.
Financial and Corporate Accountability
While broader than a traditional finance role, the DCS remains responsible for ensuring the integrity of the municipality’s financial framework. This includes oversight of financial reporting, budgeting, audit coordination, cash flow management, banking relationships, investments, and asset controls. The DCS ensures that appropriate internal controls are in place and that information provided to the CAO, Senior Leadership Team, and Council is accurate and timely.
Enterprise (Business) Leadership
As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the DCS collaborates with departmental leaders to ensure they receive meaningful financial and operational information to guide decision-making. The DCS establishes and maintains strong working relationships with the CAO, Council, and colleagues across the organization.
