Job Description

Reporting to the Community and Social Services Manager, you will use your strong understanding of the community’s needs, gaps, and opportunities to develop, coordinate, and deliver programs, events, and services that enhance the wellbeing of individuals, families and communities. This position fosters strong partnerships, promotes community engagement, and ensures accessible and inclusive services that contribute to the overall wellbeing of Innisfail residents.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of a variety of community programs, workshops and initiatives based on community needs, with a focus on fostering connection and engagement.
  • Efficiently allocating available resources, including developing and deploying volunteers as required.
  • Development and implementation of preventative initiatives to support community wellness and engagement.
  • Providing appropriate information, education, and referral services directly to residents, including participation in emergency social services initiatives.
  • Researching and maintaining knowledge base of local, regional, and provincial services to provide accurate and timely referrals.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to plan inclusive and accessible events that align with the Town’s strategic goals and community needs.
  • Building sustainable partnerships with community organizations, service providers, and coalitions to enhance service delivery and community capacity.
  • Representing the Town on relevant committees, boards and networks.
  • Supporting other members of the Community Services Team as required.

You Have:

  • A post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field such as Social Work, Human Services, Community Development, Recreation, or similar discipline
  • A minimum of 2 years’ related experience
  • An excellent communication skillset with the ability to develop and support strong relationships
  • Impeccable integrity, honesty, professionalism, and confidentiality
  • A valid Class 5 driver’s license and ability to obtain a clear criminal record clearance including vulnerable sector and Child Intervention screening

The Town of Innisfail offers a competitive salary commensurate with experience and an excellent benefits package. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $34.59 per hour to $39.13 per hour, based on a 35 hour work week, and is commensurate with experience.
