The Opportunity:


Reporting to and under the general direction of the Communications and Marketing Supervisor, this
position plays a critical role in strengthening the City’s digital presence, public and internal
communications, and public engagement. This position combines expertise in marketing, multimedia
content creation, and brand stewardship to deliver compelling visual and interactive experiences
across web, social media, and other digital platforms. The role supports corporate communications,
marketing campaigns, and public engagement initiatives while ensuring accessibility, consistency, and
innovation.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES


Technical Skills
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and video editing tools.
• Experience with CMS platforms and social media management tools.
• Familiarity with analytics tools (Google Analytics, Facebook Insights) and media monitoring tools.
• Creativity and adaptability to emerging technologies (AI, automation).


Communication
• Proven ability to provide strategic communications counsel, issues management, and reputation
management support to Senior Leadership, Council, and Administration.
• Experience in administering media relations, advertising, publications, social media, and
marketing.
• Support public engagement activities and community events.
• Superior writing, editing, and presentation skills.


Organizational Skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
• Diploma in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or related field preferred.
• One (1) to two (2) years’ experience in content creation, marketing, or communications.
• Experience in municipal or public sector environment is an asset.

Salary and Benefits: $33.36 to $41.70 per hour (based on 37.5 hours per week, dependent on skills
and experience). The City offers a generous benefit package, including health and welfare benefits,
pension plan, and 6% vacation (approximately 3 weeks) to start.
