Submit your interest in hosting SDAB training by August 20

Is your municipality interested in hosting Subdivision Development Appeal Board (SDAB) training?

While there are a few spaces left for SDAB clerk training, the workshops being offered by AUMA, RMA, and Municipal Affairs for SDAB members over the summer and fall are all full and have long waitlists.  There has been overwhelming demand for additional SDAB training, and in an attempt to meet some of the demand, AUMA and RMA are open to working with municipalities to host a limited number of further training sessions as scheduling and budgets allow.  If your municipality is interested in hosting a one-day session, send an email to Allison Hansen allison [at] RMAlberta.com (allison[at]RMAlberta[dot]com) by August 20 with the following information:

  • Confirmation that the municipality will cover the venue costs and details of the location where the training session would be held, including confirmation that the location can hold 25 to 35 people comfortably with classroom or U-shape seating and the availability of a projector and screen.
  • Confirmation that the municipality(ies) would cover catering costs (Lunch plus two snacks).
  • Potential dates for the training sessions. Please provide at least three before March 1, 2019.
  • Names of 25 to 35 SDAB members or clerks who would participate in the training session.  Municipalities are encouraged to reach out to neighbouring municipalities to secure a sufficient number of participants.

For your convenience, please submit your information in the attached form. All proposals will be reviewed by RMA and AUMA during the week of the August 20 in accordance with schedules and budgets to determine if additional training sessions can be arranged.
