Member feedback on the 2025 municipal election
Alberta Municipalities (ABmunis) would like to thank all the municipalities who took the time to share their feedback and insights regarding the municipal election. ABmunis recognizes that the 2025 election presented significant challenges for many communities, particularly following legislative amendments introduced in 2024 and 2025.
Between November 7, 2025, and January 9, 2026, 45 member municipalities have submitted feedback on their experiences during the 2025 municipal election. This input has been compiled on our landing page: What We Heard – 2025 Municipal Election.
The What We Heard report will be shared with Municipal Affairs and will help inform Alberta Municipalities’ future advocacy on improvements to the Local Authorities Election Act.
