On May 29, the Coalition of Alberta Public Libraries held a webinar to discuss amendments in Bill 28, the Municipal Affairs and Housing Statutes Amendment Act, 2026, that impact Alberta’s libraries.

In terms of other aspects of Bill 28, Alberta Municipalities (ABmunis) expects to be engaged in the development of regulations related to a Councillor Accountability Framework this summer. Members will be kept informed as work to implement Bill 28 continues and additional details become available.
