The Town of Cochrane is seeking a motivated, community-minded Technologist to support subdivision and development review, municipal infrastructure oversight, and the delivery of high-quality community growth.

Your Impact
In this role, you will help ensure that subdivision and development projects meet the Town of Cochrane and City of Calgary engineering standards. You’ll support the full development lifecycle from application review to construction completion while providing exceptional service to residents, developers, consultants, and internal teams.

Your work will include:
• Reviewing engineering submissions for subdivisions, Development Permits, and capital projects
• Conducting site inspections and monitoring erosion and sediment control
• Guiding residents, developers, and stakeholders through development processes
• Administering and coordinating Construction Completion Certificates (CCC) and Final Acceptance Certificates (FAC)
• Maintaining accurate municipal infrastructure records, drawings, and documentation
• Updating the Town's CAD base to support GIS and Information Systems with accurate information Drafting Subdivision Servicing Agreements and assisting with Development Agreements Providing technical input to Area Structure Plans, Neighbourhood Plans, and other planning documents
• Collaborating with capital project teams to support project delivery
• Offering technical guidance and problem solving within the scope of the role

Qualifications
We welcome candidates with a mix of education and experience from consulting, construction, or municipal environments.
• Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology
• Knowledge of municipal infrastructure, engineering design standards, and construction practices
• Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Experience with drafting, modelling, or GIS software is an asset
• Experience with site inspections, surveying, or development review is an asset
• Understanding of development approval timelines and municipal processes
• Demonstrated negotiation and problem solving abilities
• ASET membership or eligibility
• Alberta Class 5 Driver’s License
