Want long weekends every week and to escape processes stuck in the last century? The Town of Diamond Valley is looking for a Legislative Services & Process Improvement Manager who enjoys cutting through complexity, leaning out workflows across the organization, and putting AI and modern tools to practical use where they measurably save time and improve outcomes.

Anchored in Legislative Services, this role has a clear mandate to review and simplify processes organization-wide. Following our 2023 amalgamation, we’re building cleaner systems — and you’ll drive practical improvements that reduce administrative drag, speed up decision-making, and make Council and the broader organization more effective.

What you’ll do

  • Deliver core legislative services (agendas, minutes, bylaws, procedural advice) while actively improving how the work gets done.
  • Lead process reviews and lean initiatives that start in legislative services but extend across the organization — identifying waste, duplication, and friction, then implementing simpler, faster approaches.
  • Spot and apply AI, automation, and digital tools to reduce manual effort in records, bylaw work, meeting support, and other administrative areas.
  • Supervise one direct report and model a pragmatic, delivery-focused culture.
  • Work closely with the CAO, Director of Corporate Services, the Management Team, and Council on governance and cross-organizational improvement priorities.

Who we want 

You have municipal legislative or governance experience plus a genuine appetite for process improvement and technology. You ask good questions, cut through noise, and deliver results. Strong knowledge of the MGA is essential; comfort with AI tools and lean thinking is a major advantage. We’re open to candidates from traditional municipal paths or those bringing fresh process/operations perspectives who can quickly get up to speed on the legislative side.

What we offer

  • True 4-day work week (Mon–Thu, 36.5 hours) — long weekends every week.
  • $106K–$116K (Manager 1 band) + strong benefits including 9.3% employer / 3% employee RRSP contribution.
  • Starting 4 weeks vacation + 3 weeks flex time for evening Council work.
