Administrative Clerk (I, II, or III)
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused individual to join our Finance Department as an Administrative Clerk. This is an excellent opportunity to join a supportive team where you'll contribute to a variety of municipal administrative and financial functions while delivering exceptional service to residents and the community. Duties will vary depending on the successful candidate's qualifications and experience and may include customer service, financial administration, records management, account maintenance, and other municipal administrative responsibilities. The successful candidate will be placed in the classification that best reflects their qualifications, skills, and experience. This is a full-time on-site position requiring seven and a half (7.5) hours per day, and thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hours per week. Remote work is not available for this position.
Functional Responsibilities

Provide exceptional customer service to residents, businesses, and internal departments.

Perform a variety of financial, administrative, and clerical duties in support of the Finance Department.

Assist with municipal accounting functions, account maintenance, and financial processes.

Maintain records, prepare reports, and perform data entry.

Provide backup support and collaborate across administrative and finance functions.

Adhere to Town policies, procedures, safe work practices, and applicable legislative requirements.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- Post-secondary education in business, accounting, finance, office administration, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Experience in administration, accounting, finance, customer service, municipal government, or a related field is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Strong organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, exercise sound judgment, and work with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
- Knowledge of municipal financial systems, municipal legislation, or public sector accounting principles is considered an asset.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
This position is within the CUPE Local 417-05 Collective Agreement. The successful candidate will be hired as an Administrative Clerk I, II, or III, depending on their education, qualifications, skills, and relevant experience. The applicable salary range is as follows:
Administrative Clerk I: $23.79 to $26.99 per hour
Administrative Clerk II: $26.38 to $30.29 per hour
Administrative Clerk III: $30.11 to $34.15 per hour
