Vote on Requests for Decision at next week's Spring MLC

Next week, ABmunis Regular Members who attend our annual Spring Municipal Leaders’ Caucus (MLC) will have the chance to discuss and vote on two requests for decisions (RFD).

Two RFDs up for vote

The Municipality of Jasper will seek member approval for ABmunis to advocate for the Government of Alberta to increase funding to create new physical spaces for licensed child care. 

The Town of Mayerthorpe will seek member approval for ABmunis to advocate that the province cancel its plan to change the funding model for regional economic development alliances and to set a plan to provide long-term predictable funding for regional economic development work.

Background

Ahead of each Spring Municipal Leader’s Caucus, Regular Members are invited to submit RFDs that propose actions on a municipal matter. Typically, these are issues of an emergent nature that cannot wait for the resolution process at our annual convention. To learn about the difference between RFDs and resolutions, visit our website.

If your municipality wants ABmunis to advocate for a particular issue, consider presenting a resolution at our 2024 Convention. The deadline to submit a resolution is May 31.
