Thank you to our Board Members!

We are extremely grateful to our Board members whose terms come to an end in December 2025. Thanks to their leadership, we significantly advanced our advocacy for members, amplified the municipal voice to provincial and federal governments, and delivered valuable services to Alberta communities. 

 

Tyler Gandam was elected to the Alberta Municipalities Board in 2018 as the Director for Cities up to 500,000. He also served as our Vice President of Cities up to 500,000 and served on our Alberta Municipal Services Corporation (AMSC) Board prior to being elected President in 2023.   

Peter Demong was appointed to the Alberta Municipalities in 2017 as Director and Vice President for Cities Over 500,000. Peter also served on the Alberta Municipal Services Corporation (AMSC) Board. 

Andrew Knack was appointed to the Alberta Municipalities Board in 2021 as Director and Vice President for Cities Over 500,000. 

Trina Jones was elected to the Alberta Municipalities Board in 2017 and also served as the VP, Towns from 2022 – 2023 and 2024 – 2025 and on the Alberta Municipal Services Corporation (AMSC) Board.  

Kourtney Penner was appointed to the Alberta Municipalities Board in 2024 as the Director, Cities Over 500,000.  

Tina Petrow was elected to the Alberta Municipalities Board in 2023 as the Director, Cities up to 500,000. 

Scott Akkermans was elected to the Alberta Municipalities Board in 2024 as the Director, Towns South.  

Ren Giesbrecht was elected to the Alberta Municipalities Board in 2023 as the Director, Summer Villages.  

Robert Nicolay was appointed to the Alberta Municipal Services Corporation (AMSC) Board in 2025 as an External Director Representative.
