Special announcement - GOA Nuclear Energy Webinar
The Government of Alberta is hosting a Zoom Webinar session for nuclear energy for municipalities on Tuesday, December 2, at 9:00 am - 11:00 am
The webinar will feature an overview of the Alberta nuclear energy engagement process and the nuclear energy industry in Canada.
Guest speakers include Dr. Jason Donev from the University of Calgary and His Worship Adrian Foster Mayor of Clarington and Chair of the Canadian Association of Nuclear Host Communities, who will share insights into the experience and role of nuclear energy host municipalities.
The webinar will also feature an opportunity for participants to pose questions or provide comments to:
- The Alberta Nuclear Engagement and Advisory Panel,
- Guests from the Canadian Nuclear Safety Association, and
- Representatives from the Nuclear Waste Management Organization.
If interested, municipalities must register by 12:00 pm MST Monday, December 1.
Request for Information (RFI) Extension
The Government of Alberta has also extended the deadline for municipalities to submit feedback through the attached RFI by December 19, 2025. Responses can be submitted directly to nuclear.engagement [at] gov.ab.ca (nuclear[dot]engagement[at]gov[dot]ab[dot]ca). The input will help inform our panel’s final report to the Minister of Affordability and Utilities on nuclear engagement in Alberta.
