Meeting with Minister Nixon on FCSS & prevention

The Family and Community Support Services Association of Alberta (FCSSA), ABmunis and RMA had a constructive meeting with Jason Nixon, Minister of Assisted Living and Social Services, on May 15.

Alberta Municipalities expressed the growing need to reinvest in FCSS due to inflation and population growth.  More broadly, we highlighted the need for increased investment in prevention, early intervention, and practical supports for Albertans. Municipalities are well positioned to support provincial efforts to provide social programs and bend the cost curve downwards on health care.
