FireSmart Alberta Community Scorecard

ABmunis is collaborating with Alberta Forestry and Parks and the Forest Resource Improvement Association of Alberta (FRIAA) to help municipalities manage the risk of wildfire.

The newly launched FireSmart Alberta Community Scorecard is a provincially recognized self-assessment tool that helps Alberta communities understand and strengthen their wildfire mitigation and preparedness. The scorecard aligns with FireSmart best practices across the full community wildfire risk management cycle—assess risk, plan, implement, and evaluate. This allows communities to benchmark their current level of preparedness, set realistic improvement goals, and track progress over time.

Through this virtual training, community representatives will learn how to use a secure online platform to complete their annual Community Scorecard, submit optional case studies, and leverage Scorecard results to support program development, recognition, and informed risk management conversations.
