Engagement for draft Caribou Mountains Sub-Regional Plan
Members may recall that Alberta Municipalities (ABmunis) convened a Caribou Working Group several years ago to provide municipal input on proposed protected areas and land-use planning in the region. This engagement presents another opportunity for municipalities to share their perspectives.
The Government of Alberta is seeking feedback on the draft Caribou Mountains Sub-regional Plan, which will guide future land use and resource management decisions in the region. The engagement period runs from July 24 to October 26, 2026, with opportunities for municipalities, stakeholders, Indigenous communities, and the public to provide input.
Public information sessions will be held on August 26 and September 22, with additional municipal engagement opportunities planned. Review the draft plan and complete the survey through the province's Caribou Mountains Sub-regional Plan engagement page.
