Economic Development Week 2023: Take the challenge!
Economic development is as important as ever, and we recognize how economic developers are bolstering municipalities and helping Alberta’s communities recover.
Alberta Municipalities and Economic Developers Alberta (EDA) are partnering to amplify this important work by inviting you to officially proclaim May 8 to 12 as Economic Development Week 2023 in your communities.
Here are the steps to take to officially declare Economic Development Week in your community:
- Customize the 2023 Sample Resolution
- Have your council/mayor officially proclaim the week in your community and sign the resolution
- Share the proclamation with local media, and on your social media pages, and tag EDA (@edaalberta)
- Email admin [at] edaalberta.ca (admin[at]edaalberta[dot]ca) to have it added to the EDA website.
More than 50 communities participated in our 2022 Community Challenge. This year, we would like to match or exceed that number!
Involvement in the 2023 Community Challenge gives your community a voice, shows your community that you value economic development, and helps support the work your economic development staff does throughout the year.
