CEIP milestone: 1,000 completed projects
The Clean Energy Improvement Program (CEIP) has officially reached 1,000 completed projects across Alberta. As the administrator for all active programs in Alberta, we are proud of this major milestone made possible through strong municipal leadership and collaboration.
Today, 26 municipalities are participating in CEIP, helping property owners’ access more than $60 million in lowcost financing for energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades. With over 1,000 additional projects currently in the pipeline, the program continues to see strong momentum and growing demand.
CEIP is Alberta’s innovative financing tool that enables residential and commercial property owners to pay for energy efficiency and renewable energy upgrades. The program gives property owners access to flexible, long-term financing through their municipality. Unlike a traditional loan, repayment is facilitated by a tax added to the property’s tax bill. This practical approach allows for locally driven solutions that help build more sustainable communities.
