Business Improvement Area regulation updates
On January 1, 2027, updates to the Business Improvement Area (BIA) regulation will go into effect. The changes follow consultations held in 2025 and will improve BIA governance, operations, and administration. The amendments are intended to support BIAs and municipalities in fostering thriving business districts and advancing the shared goal of building strong, vibrant communities.
Over the coming years, Municipal Affairs will monitor the implementation and impact of these amendments and continue to welcome stakeholder feedback.
