Alberta Utilities Commission engagement request

The Alberta Utilities Commission’s Rule 024 describes requirements for connecting a microgeneration unit to the electrical grid. They are currently seeking feedback on connection timelines, cost disputes, changes to technical requirements, customer-utility communications, and other microgeneration-related issues.  

Municipalities with a Clean Energy Improvement (CEIP) program, especially smaller municipalities, may be particularly impacted. Changes to this regulation may affect solar projects with connection delays, changing utility requirements, unexpected costs, or interconnection challenges. These issues will have an impact on the customer experience.
