Advocating to the Official Opposition

Alberta Municipalities’ Executive Committee invited Official Opposition critic for Municipal Affairs Joe Ceci to join their meeting earlier this month.

They discussed a range of issues, including: 

• Elevating the importance of municipal priorities in the upcoming provincial election campaign
• Expanding on his pledge to bring forth ‘Partners in Prosperity’ legislation
• The upcoming transition to the Local Government Fiscal Framework (LGFF)
• The need to reverse the downloading of costs from the provincial government to municipalities

We appreciate MLA Ceci’s engagement with the Executive Committee and look forward to continuing to advocate for members’ priorities in the months ahead.
