ABmunis President meets with Federal Minister
Alberta Municipalities (ABmunis) President Dylan Bressey recently met with Honourable Eleanor Olszewski, federal Minister of Emergency Management and Community Resilience and Minister Responsible for Prairies Economic Development, to discuss opportunities for stronger collaboration between municipalities and the federal government.
The conversation focused on shared priorities, including:
- Housing
- Infrastructure investment
- Defence procurement, and
- Emergency management
President Bressey emphasized the important role municipalities play in building the homes, infrastructure, and community resilience that Canadians depend on every day. Discussions also highlighted opportunities to support municipal fire departments and strengthen local capacity to prepare for and respond to emergencies and disasters.
The meeting reflects ABmunis’ ongoing advocacy efforts to ensure municipal perspectives are heard in Ottawa and to identify new opportunities that help Alberta communities thrive.
