ABmunis joins regional leaders at PNWER Summit

The Pacific NorthWest Economic Region (PNWER) Annual Summit brought more than 500 public-sector and private-sector leaders to Edmonton last week, for several days of cross-border dialogue on shared regional challenges and opportunities.

For municipalities, the summit highlighted topics closely tied to local priorities, including economic trade corridors, connected infrastructure, permitting, trade and security, and resilient cross-border supply chains.

For Alberta Municipalities (ABmunis), the summit reinforced the importance of ensuring municipal perspectives are part of the broader conversations relating to regional competitiveness, development, and cross-border collaboration. Edmonton’s role as host also provided a strong reminder that municipalities across Alberta are central to the region’s growth and prosperity. Forums like PNWER provide a valuable opportunity to strengthen relationships and advance shared priorities with partners across Western Canada and the northwestern United States.
