FULL-TIME PUBLIC WORKS & EQUIPMENT OPERATOR The Summer Village of Ma-Me-O Beach is looking for an experienced, dependable, and community-minded individual to join our team as a Full-Time Public Works & Equipment Operator. This permanent, year-round position is ideal for someone who enjoys working outdoors, operating and maintaining equipment, solving practical problems and taking pride in keeping a community safe, attractive and well maintained.

As part of a small municipal team, you'll have a diverse range of responsibilities, including:

• Operating and maintaining a Kubota tractor, municipal vehicles, beach cleaner and other equipment;

• Road and alley maintenance, including gravel placement and maintaining consistent driving surfaces;

• Snow clearing, sanding and winter ice control using a tractor and truck-mounted equipment;

• Seasonal installation, removal, transport and storage of boat hoists, including GPS-assisted placement;

• Beach, shoreline, lake-access, park and playground maintenance; • Grass cutting, vegetation management and minor tree removal;

• Sign and sign-post installation and maintenance;

• Maintaining municipal buildings, public washrooms, garbage cans, benches, gates and locks, security cameras and other municipal assets;

• Exterior building maintenance, painting and graffiti removal;

• Supporting garbage collection activities and responding to emergent sanitation needs;

• Performing preventative equipment maintenance and minor mechanical repairs; and

• Supporting community events and responding to changing seasonal and operational priorities.

We're Looking for Someone Who:

Has previous relevant hands-on experience, is confident operating a tractor and other equipment, has mechanical aptitude and experience with road maintenance and snow removal, and can safely perform physically demanding outdoor work throughout the year.

Just as importantly, we're looking for someone who is self-motivated, approachable and professional, works well independently and as part of a team, and takes the initiative to notice and address things that need attention.

A valid Alberta Class 5 Driver's Licence and satisfactory driver's abstract are required.

Municipal Public Works experience, Class 3 licence, equipment certifications, First Aid and related training are considered assets.

Permanent Full-Time | 40 hours/week

Wage:

$30 to 40 / hour, based on experience and qualifications
