Job Description

Reporting to the ERP Project – Technical and Data Lead, the ERP Solutions Architect is responsible for leading the end-to-end design and governance of the City’s ERP solution architecture across applications, integrations, data and technology platforms.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide architectural guidance, technical recommendations, and solution status updates to the ERP Project Technical and Data Lead, while identifying and addressing technical risks, dependencies, and architectural impacts.

  • Collaborate with the implementation partner, business stakeholders, and technical teams to define the ERP solution architecture, future-state design, and alignment with business processes and organizational objectives.

  • Define and oversee end-to-end solution architecture across applications, integrations, data flows, reporting, technology platforms, cloud architecture, networking, identity, and security.

  • Review and guide ERP configuration, customizations, integrations, environments, releases, and change requests to ensure alignment with approved architecture, minimize technical debt, and maximize the use of standard ERP functionality.

  • Develop and maintain solution architecture documentation, diagrams, standards, and architectural decision records, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture principles, scalability, and long-term technology objectives.

  • Support user acceptance testing, defect analysis, and validation of end-to-end business processes, integrations, reporting outputs, cross-module functionality, and overall solution design.

  • Support training, knowledge transfer, and internal readiness for post-go-live solution management.

  • Support production cutover, stabilization, and ongoing architecture governance.

 

The successful candidate will possess a post-secondary Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related discipline. Training in ERP design, integration, configuration, and architecture documentation is required while relevant industry certifications, including TOGAF, Azure, ITIL, or ERP platform certifications, are preferred. A minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in enterprise information technology is required, including experience with ERP or enterprise application implementations, solution architecture, systems integration, solution design, and technical leadership. Experience with major ERP platforms such as Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, SAP, or similar solutions is considered an asset. Experience working with implementation partners and software vendors, as well as experience in a municipal or government environment, is preferred. Experience with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft 365, Microsoft SQL Server, Microsoft Entra ID, APIs/web services, Microsoft Visio, architecture documentation tools, and Microsoft Office is essential. The successful candidate will possess strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills to effectively evaluate solutions, address complex issues, and communicate recommendations.

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours weekly, Monday – Friday

Duration: November 16, 2026 – November 19, 2028

This position is likely to become a permanent full-time position, subject to organizational needs and availability.

The City of Fort Saskatchewan offers a wage range of $50.36 to $59.25 per hour.
