ARROW Utilities, a Capital Region Commission is a regional services Commission providing wastewater transmission and treatment to nearly 400,000 people in 13 municipalities surrounding the City of Edmonton. ARROW owns and operates 200 km of wastewater transmission lines, 5 pumping stations, and the main wastewater treatment plant. Our mission is to provide safe, reliable, cost efficient, and environmentally responsible wastewater transmission and treatment service.

OPPORTUNITY

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and exercise your administrative, technical, and creative problem-solving skills. This position reports to the Communications, Administration, & Strategic Services Supervisor, and is primarily responsible for:

  • Administrative Support: general office tasks including answering phones, opening and distributing mail, ordering and stocking office supplies, light cleaning duties, and other administrative tasks as required.
  • Operational Support: Management of ARROW’s uniform rental program, janitorial, and coffee supply contracts.  
  • Administrative Process Digitization: Support ARROW’s Operations and Maintenance department by planning and implementing digital processes and templates that improve efficiency and organization.  
  • Strategic Services Support: Support the implementation and performance of ARROW’s strategic business planning cycle and enterprise risk management program.
  • Marketing & Communications Support: Support the Marketing & Communications Advisor with various communications, marketing, and campaign tasks.

Please note: Our plant is located just outside of Fort Saskatchewan and public transit is not available.

QUALIFICATIONS

To be a successful candidate you must: 

  • Possess a post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Commerce, Marketing, or Communications
  • 1-2 years experience working in a corporate environment as an assistant, coordinator or a similar administrative role.  
  • Possess advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite including SharePoint, Power Automate, as well as Adobe Acrobat Pro.  
  • Familiarity with social media and Canva or similar digital design platforms.
  • Be highly organized, motivated, honest, and willing to learn and use new software or platforms.  
  • Possess strong written and interpersonal communication skills, with excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.

COMPENSATION

This position is a hybrid opportunity, with the ability to work from home 2 days a week. We work a compressed work week of 8-hour workdays Monday through Thursday, with Fridays alternating between a 6-hour shift of, or as an earned day off.  

The salary range for this position is $66,579 - $81,749 per annum. We provide a comprehensive benefits package, paid time off, and eligibility for the Local Authorities Pension Plan. We are proud of our friendly and safe working environment.
