Tips for negotiating ICFs

Not sure what to consider in creating Intermunicipal Collaboration Frameworks (ICFs) with your neighbours? AUMA has collected some helpful ideas from our members to aid you in the process.

To start, see this list of resources to consider when moving forward with your ICF discussions.

Cost sharing is a significant issue many municipalities would like to discuss, but getting started can be daunting. Read a concise summary of the cost-sharing principles that you can use to form the basis of your position.

Additionally, AUMA and RMA are currently working on updating the Intermunicipal Collaboration Framework Workbook that was released in 2018. The Workbook is still a valuable resource in its current form, so there is no need to wait for the updates; feel free to refer to it today.
