Member RFDs due March 6
The Spring Municipal Leaders' Caucus, scheduled for March 30 and 31 in Edmonton, provides an opportunity for members to bring forward Requests For Decisions (RFDs) on issues that should be addressed in advance of the 2023 Convention in September.
Members interested in sponsoring an RFD should contact ABmunis' Advocacy team by advocacy [at] abmunis.ca (email) to determine if an RFD is the right tool to bring forward an issue for consideration by ABmunis members. A template that provides tips on how to draft RFDs is also available. More information on the difference between RFDs and resolutions is available on our Requesting Action by Alberta Municipalities web page.
This year’s Spring MLC is being held in conjunction with a President’s Summit on the Future of Municipal Government which will run from March 29 to noon on March 30. The Summit will focus on opportunities and challenges related to intermunicipal collaboration.
More details on the MLC and President’s Summit will be available soon. Registration will open in February.
