Funding Available to Celebrate Emergence from COVID-19

The Government of Canada has announced a Reopening Fund to help organizations:

  • Host activities and celebrations to mark Canada’s emergence from the COVID-19 pandemic;
  • Host commemorative activities that recognize people and achievements responding to COVID-19; or
  • Support the revival of local economies through in-person events.

Eligible projects must:

  • be free of charge;
  • be open to the public;
  • support the revival of local economies after the hardship of the pandemic;
  • commemorate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic in Canada, either as a general theme or by honouring first responders, front-line workers, communities, pay tribute to lives lost, or
  • provide an opportunity for Canadians impacted by COVID-19 to share their stories; and experiences, and contributions during the pandemic in Canada.

Municipal governments are eligible to apply. The application deadline is January 10, 2022.
