Alberta Municipalities Presents: Mitacs – Research, Innovation and Local Governments

Trying to solve a challenge, start a project, or improve your community? Tired of applying for grant after grant and not getting enough funding? Alberta Municipalities is hosting a webinar with Mitacs to help solve some of the challenges that you are facing as a municipality.

Municipalities can access funding, talent, and solutions to challenges through Mitacs, a not-for-profit organization that fosters growth and innovation in Canada. Through Mitacs’s internship programs, municipalities can access a range of research expertise and specialized skills from Canada’s post-secondary institutions to advance innovation, policy, and local projects. Mitacs interns — ranging from college and polytechnic students, university undergraduate and graduate students, to postdoctoral fellows — can help municipalities address a broad range of challenges from infrastructure renewal, including waterways and roads, to agricultural and food supply issues, to COVID-19 pandemic-related concerns.

The webinar is on December 15, 2021, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Please register via Eventbrite.
