Youth and Business Development Coordinator
The Community and Social Development department provides locally driven, preventive, social initiatives to enhance the well-being of individuals, families, and the community.
The Stony Plain Youth Centre is currently hiring for a temporary full-time Youth and Business Development Coordinator. Reporting to the Youth Services Supervisor, the Youth and Business Development Coordinator is responsible for leading business development through the coordination, expansion, and promotion of the Stony Plain Youth Centre social enterprise endeavors. The focus of this position is on the progress, sustainability, and profitable operation of these endeavors to deliver financial and social outcomes that meet the needs of youth and community customers.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess a Diploma in Business, Marketing, Economics, or equivalent combined with a minimum three (3) years’ experience in youth related work. Education and/or training in Social Enterprise is an asset, as is experience working with service providers, organizations, businesses, and community groups within the area of Stony Plain, Spruce Grove, and Parkland County. Standard First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, and Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training is required, but can be obtained after employment.
Successful applicants will demonstrate a working knowledge of business processes and financial management, including reviewing and managing operational budgets. The incumbent will boast excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills and be highly competent in exercising the use of discretion, tact, and professionalism in dealing with youth, parents, and community partners. This position will require strong organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and in a team environment.
This is a temporary position with an anticipated end date of December 31, 2022. The annual salary range for this position is $56,482 - $71,860. The current work week is based on 35 hours and will require flexibility to work Youth Centre Hours of operation including frequent evening and weekend hours.
