The Opportunity:
Reporting to Community Development & Engineering Manager, the Senior Engineer is responsible for independently completing varied assignments requiring a broad understanding of the field of engineering and may also require specialized knowledge, as well as knowledge of interrelated effects of the work upon other areas of the business. The role is responsible for:
• Ensure all engineering work is compliant with relevant provincial and municipal statutory requirements;
• Coordinate the planning, design, construction and rehabilitation of the Town’s infrastructure to ensure these systems are safe, efficient, cost effective & customer oriented, and constructed in accordance with good engineering standards and practices;
• Review and approve infrastructure related to new development and subdivision applications in accordance with policies, specifications, provincial regulations and accepted engineering standards;
• Provide leadership and guidance to all business centres in their management of capital project;
• Provide planning and financial control of capital projects including budget preparation, quality control, scheduling and budget monitoring;
• Prepare reports for submission to regulatory authorities;
• Other engineering related assignments as required.
