THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the AVP, Accreditation and Compliance, Manager of Compliance leads a team of Compliance and Technical Advisors (CTAs) who deliver high-impact compliance monitoring and technical advisory services across the Council. This role is responsible for designing and implementing innovative compliance monitoring methodologies and developing actionable compliance recommendations.

KEY RESPONSIBILTIES
- Lead, coach, and inspire the Compliance and Technical Advisors (CTAs) by fostering accountability and support, removing barriers to success, and championing continuous improvement
- Develop and maintain comprehensive compliance monitoring plans and audit methodologies.
- Ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
- Plan and oversee compliance audits to meet Council targets.
- Allocate team resources effectively across compliance and advisory functions.
- Review and approve audit findings and reports for accuracy and alignment with standards.
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Represent the Council at industry events to promote consistency and credibility.
- Monitor emerging trends and risks to inform program development and mitigation strategies.
- Provide updates on audit progress and present compliance reports
- Collaborate with Council leaders to address emerging issues within the Council’s mandate.
- Identify and implement improvements to compliance monitoring processes and methodologies.
WHAT YOU BRING
To be successful in this role, you have a post-secondary degree in post-secondary degree in a relevant field such as engineering, environmental science, public administration, business administration, or a related discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience). You bring 5+ years of experience in compliance monitoring, auditing, or a related field. with at least 2–3 years in a leadership role. You also bring:
- In-depth knowledge of the Safety Codes Act and related regulations.
- Familiarity with risk-based compliance, enforcement strategies, and public safety compliance campaigns.
- An understanding of municipal governance and roles of provincial regulators and industry associations.
- Knowledge of FOIP and best practices for handling sensitive information.
- Experience with program planning, service delivery, and performance measurement in regulatory/public sectors.
- Advanced understanding of auditing procedures, sampling methods, and compliance metrics.
- A proven ability to oversee and conduct comprehensive compliance audits.

You will stand out if you have the following assets:
- Experience in Safety Codes delivery
- Safety Codes Officer (SCO) certification
- Formal training in audit, investigations, ISO or other relevant training in compliance monitoring

A competitive base salary that considers your education and experience with a salary range between $95,000-$130,000.
