Director of Infrastructure and Transportation

Reporting directly to the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO), the Director is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team. You will play a key role in overseeing the Town’s infrastructure, transportation, fleet, and related capital project delivery functions to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective municipal operations.

You’ll be responsible for:

Strategy & Leadership

Provide strategic advice to the CAO and Council on infrastructure priorities, risks, and long-term planning.

Lead and mentor departmental staff, fostering a high-performance culture.

Service Delivery

Provide operational oversight of infrastructure, transportation, and fleet services to ensure reliable, efficient service delivery.

Direct day-to-day operations, resource allocation, and service levels to maintain performance and meet community needs.

Project Delivery

Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, regulations, and safety standards.

Oversee procurement, contract management, and project delivery.

We’re looking for someone with:

• Degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field Experience managing public works, civil engineering, infrastructure management, asset management, and OHS regulations.
• Strong leadership, strategic thinking, project management, problem-solving and operational planning skills.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to lead staff under high-stress, emergency conditions, working independently and exercise sound judgment.
