Report card on 2020 resolutions

Are you curious about the status of our advocacy on a resolution? If so, our Resolutions Library is the best place to see what the Government of Alberta’s response has been.

All ABmunis resolutions are active for three years, so with the 2020 resolutions now being classified as expired, we took this opportunity to release our first report card.

Alberta Municipalities' Report Card on the 2020 Expired Resolutions highlights the outcomes of our advocacy on the 2020 resolutions. Key advocacy wins include:

Providing a Long-Term Source of Financial Relief for Albertans

The Government of Alberta has followed our recommendations to adopt legislation to implement an Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) program. ABmunis was at the forefront in advocating for EPR and we are pleased to see this program come to fruition.

Integration of Nurse Practitioners into the Alberta Healthcare System

The Government of Alberta recently announced a new funding model that will allow nurse practitioners to direct bill and give them the ability to open their own clinics.

Fair Increase to Wireless Device 911 Levy to Modernize 911 Call Centres

The Government of Alberta followed our recommendations and increased the 911 monthly wireless phone levy from 44 cents to 95 cents in September 2021.

Details on how to submit a resolution for next year’s Convention will be announced in January. If you have a question about ABmunis resolutions, please send an advocacy [at] abmunis.ca (email) to ABmunis' Policy & Advocacy team.
